  1. What is this?
    Sims 2  is a game where you make characters called “sims” and let them live their pixel lives. It’s an open ended game.  You can make them do whatever you want and look however you want.  So I made them look like characters from True Blood and do all sorts of nutty things.  This tumblr is a compilation of random snippets from my game.


  2. Did you make the characters yourself?
    Yes, I made all the True Blood sims shown on this tumblr.


  3. How do you make them resemble the real people?
    I create their faces with the game’s “bodyshop” tool then add special details like custom made hair and clothes.   Here are some tips on sim making.  For further help and tutorials, check out the “create” section of modthesims.


  4. Will you be making more characters?
    I’d like to make them all, but it takes time and I never know when/if a sim will be done until it’s done.


  5. How do you get them to be different heights?
    With the “Stretchskeleton” cheat. This wiki page explains how to use the cheat (near the bottom of the page) and this tutorial explains how to make the height change permanent.  I use 1.07 for Eric, .94 for Sookie, .95 for Godric, and the default 1 for most other sims.


  6. Do the characters all live together?  Can we see their houses? 
    They don’t ALL live together, but a few of them do.  Here’s an old tour of their homes and businesses.  It’s wildly out of date now though.  I’ll try to post a new one sometime.


  7. What custom content do you use/where do you get it?
    Most is stuff I made myself.  Some is stuff other people made.  You can download lots of it if you follow those links.


  8. Which Sims 2 Expansion Packs do you recommend?
    The most crucial expansion for True Blood Sims is “Nightlife” since it lets you make vampires.  “Apartment Life” lets you make witches who cackle and cast spells.  (Sookie is a witch in my game.)  “Pets” lets you make werewolves and have dogs, cats, birds, and hamsters.  “Open for Business” lets your sims run businesses (like Fangtasia and Merlotte’s).  So I guess those would be the key expansion packs, although you’ll see elements from each expansion in my pics since I have them all. 

    My favourite expansion, however, is “Seasons”.  It adds snow, rain, falling leaves, gardening, fishing, and an adorable penguin…. among other stuff.   I guess it’s kind of the anti-True-Blood expansion since it doesn’t snow in Bon Temps (except in my game!) but it’s lots of fun. Godric & Sookie’s hair came with Seasons too, come to think of it.


  9. How do you take big clear pics and videos in the game? 
    Use a screenshot program instead of the in-game camera.  I use Fraps.  You could also try Gadwin  or Irfanview or just google ‘free screenshot program’ to find one you like.


  10. What kind of computer/RAM/video card do you have?

  12. What about Sims 3?  Do you like it?  Recommend it? Plan to switch?
    I prefer Sims 2.  I don’t plan to switch to Sims 3.  For a more detailed answer please read this little ramble.
